I had to make time for ONE MORE Halloween idea! If you’re anything like me, the month flew by and you’re scrambling to put together a Halloween party last-minute (when will we learn?!) so I used the best Halloween movie of all time as inspiration for making a very purple mystical Halloween party that included my crystal ball cake from earlier this week! It might be basic of me to love Hocus Pocus so much, but it’s one of the best movies of my childhood, so I used the “I put a spell on you” song as the basis for this mystical Halloween party with lots of purple, black and silver. With a DIY balloon garland, eyeball topped “shots,” and a crystal ball cake, this mini party is a great last-minute Halloween party idea you can put together in a couple hours. You can read more about how to make your own balloon garland or arch in my last party post! This time, I made a smaller garland and didn’t attach it to the wall at all. Instead, I used fishing line to tie it to my bar cart, which worked really well. Using a mix of two purples, black, white and silver balloons, the garland had the look I wanted!
The bottom of the bar cart held my decanters, additional balloons, honeycombs, fans, a light-up crystal ball decoration and a silver disco ball for extra shine. I draped one side of the cart with a black netting for some spookiness, and used my neon cat light for some glow on top. My small crystal ball cake is sitting on a small black cake stand for height, and it’s accompanied by shots filled with a purple concoction (psst, just add purple food coloring to your favorite drink!) and topped with plastic eyeballs. Add a container of colorful candies and other miscellaneous Halloween decorations to fill in your space.
