The next holiday we’re celebrating is Valentine’s Day, so I’m getting my outfit ready with a new pair of DIY Valentine’s Day shoes with crystals or rhinestones! This easy sneaker update is perfect for spring and summer. Yes, spring will be here before you know it! With Aleene’s Multi-Surface Glue, you can add any crystal design to your favorite shoes. In this case, I’m adding a simple heart design to my pink sneakers for cute Valentine’s Day shoes that I’m sure I’ll wear any day of the week. Follow the video tutorial below for the quick DIY!
A tube of Aleene’s The Ultimate Multi-Surface Adhesive is perfect for this project because it’s designed to work on multiple surfaces and a little glue goes a long way. These tiny rhinestones for my Valentine’s Day shoes need a very small amount of glue to hold. Grab an old pair of sneakers and give them a rhinestone Valentine’s Day makeover!
How to Makeover Sneakers for Valentine’s Day Shoes
Supplies:
- Pink sneakers
- Aleene’s The Ultimate Multi-Surface Adhesive
- Mini flat-back crystals or rhinestones
- Pencil
- Cotton swabs, recommended
Step 1: Use a pencil to mark a heart shape at the toe of the sneakers. You want the marks just dark enough to see.
Step 2: Apply Aleene’s Glue to the flat backside of the rhinestones. You can do this with a small cotton swab and use your hands or a set of tweezers to place the crystals on the shoes. Follow the heart outline you drew, then fill in to the edge of the sneaker.
Repeat the same pattern with both of your shoes, and you’ll have a fun new pair of Valentine’s Day shoes! Let’s face it, you’ll probably wear these more than just Valentine’s Day!

This sounds fun! I like that it’s simple and doesn’t require special equipment.
